"The small Sato"
Das kleine Sato haben wir speziell für Kunden mit etwas kleineren Räumen entwickelt. Es handelt sich hierbei nicht um eine Kopie des Western Electric 22A. Dennoch sind sich die beiden in bestimmten Bereichen schon ähnlich. Allerdings weiß das kleine Sato mit einem noch etwas tieferen cut-off und selbstredend besseren Resonanzeigenschaften zu überzeugen.
We've developed the small Sato especially for customers with slightly smaller rooms. This is not a copy of the Western Electric 22A. Nevertheless, the two are similar in certain aspects. However, the small Sato knows how to convince with a slightly deeper cut-off and, of course, better resonance properties.

"The Sato horn"
Das Sato Horn wurde Ende der 1960 er Jahre von Susumo Sato, einem Japaner entworfen. Sein Ziel war es, ein Horn zu entwickeln, welches zwar etwas kleiner als das Western Electric WE15A ist, aber dennoch in der Lage ist, die tiefsten Mittelton Frequenzen ohne Cut-Off wiederzugeben, um so eine Trennung im wichtigsten Bereich der Musik, nämlich im Grundton, zu vermeiden.
Tatsächlich hat das Sato sogar einen etwas lineareren Frequenzgang als alle traditionellen WE-Hörner.
Das ursprüngliche Sato Horn war etwa 190 cm lang, für einen 2" Treiber entworfen und hatte einen um 180 Grad eingedrehten Horn Verlauf.
Um nun aber den Hornsolutions 666 Treiber anschließen zu können, musste das Sato von uns um mehr als 50 Zentimeter verlängert werden und hat jetzt einen durchgehend gekrümmten Hals wie die originalen WE Hörner. So kommt das Horn auf eine mittlere Hornlänge von 245 cm und erzielt so einen noch lineareren Frequenzgang als das ursprüngliche Sato Horn.
The Sato Horn was designed in the late 1960s by Susumo Sato, a Japanese. His goal was to create a horn that, while slightly smaller than the Western Electric WE15A, would still be able to reproduce the lowest midrange frequencies without a cut-off, thus avoiding separation in the most important area of music, namely the fundamental lower midrange.
In fact, the Sato actually has a slightly more linear frequency response than any traditional WE horn.
The original Sato horn was about 190 cm long, designed for a 2" driver, and had a 180 degree turned horn shape.
But in order to be able to connect the Hornsolutions 666 driver, the Sato had to be lengthened by us by more than 50 centimeters and now it has a continuous curved shape like the original WE horns. Thus, the horn comes to an average horn length of 245 cm and thus achieves an even more linear frequency response than the original Sato horn.

"The Western Electric WE66 A"
Das WE66A ist entgegen vieler Geschichten kein von Western Electric entwickeltes Horn. In Wahrheit wurde es von einem Franzosen entwickelt. Seinen Namen verdankt es dem Umstand, eine um 1/3 verkleinerte Version des legendären Western Electric 15A zu sein. Somit weist es die gleiche Hornfunktion und Kontur auf, wie das WE15A, aber eben nur 66% von dessen Größe.
Das Hornsolutions WE66A ist nochmal um mehr als einen halben Meter länger als die ursprüngliche, in der L'Audiophil von Hiraga beschriebene Version und endet ebenfalls mit einer 3/4" Öffnung zur Aufnahme des 666 Treibers.
Für uns ist dieses Horn der perfekte Kompromiss und es strahlt es eine unglaubliche Eleganz aus.
Contrary to many stories, the WE66A wasn't developed by Western Electric. In fact, it was developed by a French guy. It owes its name to the fact that it is a 1/3 smaller version of the legendary Western Electric 15A. Thus, it has the same horn function and contour as the WE15A, but only 66% of its size.
The Hornsolutions WE66A is again more than a half meter longer than the original version described in Hiraga's L'Audiophil and also ends with a 3/4" opening to accommodate the 666 driver.
For us, this horn is the perfect compromise and it exudes incredible elegance.

"The Western Electric WE15 A"
Das legendäre Western Electric 15A. Kenner wissen natürlich genau worum es sich dreht. Im Prinzip die Mutter aller Hörner. Entwickelt von den Western Electric Ingenieuren in den 1920er Jahren. Originale dieser Legenden werden in der Szene um 80.000€ gehandelt und sind so gut wie gar nicht mehr auf dem Markt erhältlich. Sollte man allerdings dennoch mal eines dieser Exemplare zu Gesicht bekommen, befindet es sich gewöhnlich in einem traurigen Zustand.
Dieses Horn wurde damals in den amerikanischen Lichtspielhäusern hinter den Leinwänden eingesetzt und markiert den Anfang eines neuen Zeitalters, nämlich den des Tonfilms.
Mit einem sagenhaften cut-off von 51 Hz, bei einer Hornlänge von 438 Zentimetern ist es ohne weiteres ab 80/100Hz einsetzbar. Klanglich ist es bis heute unübertroffen und aus genau diesem Grund ist es auch unser Referenzmodell.
Unsere Repliken sind 1 zu 1 Kopien nach den originalen Western Electric Bauplänen. Was sie allerdings von den Originalen unterscheidet, ist die von uns eingesetzte Oberflächenbeschichtung mit Resonanzoptimierenden Materialien.
